The Azores are a group of 9 vulcanic islands in the North Atlantic right in the middle of North America and Europe. It takes about 2h flight from Lisbon to the Azores.

 

The only airline at the Azores are SATA and TAP which also connect all 9 islands.

 

money

The local money is the EURO. Most banks accept VISA/Mastercard.

 

language

As the Azores belong to Portugal the native language is Portuguese. But english  is usually understood as well.

 

weather

Due to the location in the Atlantic Ocean with the next continental area being over 1500km away the oceanic climate is dominant at the Azores.

The warm Atlantic Ocean Gulf Stream produces a maritime temperate climate with warm clear water which also makes the Azores a great place for diving.
