Especially during April and June many whales can be seen - including some of the baleen whales that include the biggest animal on earth, the Blue whale. This part of the year is also called the "Season of the Giants" at the Azores.

During May and June when spring is starting at the Azores the temperatures are about 16-22°C (60-71°F) and the rain is less frequent.

Experience an island just waking up from it's winter sleep. Explore the Pico - at this time often still covered by snow - and get to admire the blooming Incenso that covers the island with a sweet smell.
