The Bahamas are a group of islands in the West Indies situated in the south-east of the USA. They are easily reached from Ft. Lauderdale within c. 30min flight. See the map for location.
money The local money is the Bahamian dollar which is 1:1 with the US$ and the US$ is usually accepted.

weather The sub-tropical and tropical climate at the Bahamas makes it a wonderful destination all year round with lots of sunny days combined with warm, cristal-clear water. Hurricans may occur any time between May and Nov. For that reason cancellations can happen (even though they've been rare in the past) and comprehensive travel insurance is recommended.
