The Republic of Honduras is located in Central America at the Gulf of Honduras in the Carribean. It is sitiuated between Nicaragua to the south, Guatemala in the north and El Salvador.  

The Republic of Honduras is characterized by mountains and flat coastal areas. It offers long sand beaches, tropical forests and much more to experience.

money

The local currency is the Lempira which daily changing exchange-rates (c. LPS 14.00 = US$ 1). The US$ is widely accepted.

language

The native language in the Republic of Honduras is Carib and Spanish. English is often understood as well. 

 Due it's situation the climate is tropical, with cooler, more temperate weather in the mountains. The north coast is very hot with rain throughout the year, and though the offshore breezes temper the climate, the sun is very strong. At the islands the temperates are usually in the 80s °F . Roatan enjoys tradewinds the majority of the year, which make the climate even more comfortable. The dry season is from November to April and the wet season runs from May to October. Mid September-mid December, it's cool with occasional rain, and the rainy season is in full force.
 

Hurricanes are few and far between, and Honduras is generally not in the path of large storms.
