Mozambique is located in the South-east part of Africa with Tanzania in the north, South Africa in the south and plenty of beach which is bordered by lagoons, coral reefs and strings of islands at the Indian Ocean in the east.

Ponta D' Ouro - The Point of Gold is situated in the very south of Mozambique.

money

The local money the Mozambique Metical. The import and export of local currency is prohibited. It is advised to take US$ or South African Rand with you. credit cards are rarely accepted. There are a few ATM that accept VISA cards to optain cash.

language

The local official language is Portugues. In addition to that several African languages are spoken. English should be understood well in most places as well.

The climate in Mozambique varies according to the area with the coast being warmer. the hottest and wettest season is Oct - March.  From April to September the coast has warm, mainly dry weather tempered by sea breezes.
 

Ponta d'Ouro is characterized by warm subtropical climate (with average temperature between 27-29°C / 80 - 84°F).  The mean monthly temperatures in summer are hot (up to 30-38°C /86-100°F), while mean minimum temperatures in the coolest months are mild (average about13.5°C/57°F).

The average water temperature is about 12-16°C / 54 - 61°F.
